Parting Out: 1982 300D Turbo - Everybodyghost - 03-26-2013

Engine runs, trans shifts fine, most of the electrics work. Was rolled, so the sun roof and driver's front door is wasted. Relatively rust free, there's a little in the floor. The brakes don't work at all, not sure why. Post in thread with questions.

I'll be using the price list from my local Pic-a-Part, found here: http://www.rustyspic-a-part.com/index.php/pricing
Local pick up in Asheville, NC or I will ship USPS.

RE: Parting Out: 1982 300D Turbo - larsalan - 03-26-2013

I have badly been wanting a rear bumpstop. The little rubber bit that is the end of the line when the shocks/springs are compressed all the way.
Don't rush to it but if you happen to tear that far in keep it in mind.

What's the going rate on these? Didn't see one on my price list. Shipping is going to be a killer.

Also, I noticed that the link to the price list wasn't working. It's fixed now.

I'll probably be leaving the suspension under the car for when I have to get it on a truck to go to the crusher.

I just shipped a Holset to Norway, It was $120 for just the shipping.

How about $50 for the IP? Price list says 65 for turbos. The seals seem fine in the turbo, it's a T3.

50$ is ok if the MW IP is proven good and no leaks on it
it shoud fit in large flat rate box ...no?

.

RE: Parting Out: 1982 300D Turbo - Simpler=Better - 03-27-2013

It should fit in a flat rate, they just raised their rates though-It's somewhere around 45 for international.

If you pull the oil filter assembly I want it but it's going to be a couple weeks before I can spare the moolah

Let me check. You need the turbo or no?

Looks like it'll fit. There's some oil/grime on it, but I can't tell if it's just the leaking valve cover or not.

I checked with USPS. International flat rate boxes are 77 USD now, so that would 120 USD shipped. What country are you in? I could send it in a regular box, for maybe a bit less. It depends where you are and how much that thing weighs.

Condition of the steering box?
Rusty exterior?
How much is the adjustment screw out?

Steering box: Fine, but probably something I don't want to ship.

Rusty exterior: There's a little on the driver's side fender.

Adjusting screw: No clue.

Hahah... all three of those questions were concerning the steering box.

If you get ready to crush the car I'll buy the box from you. It costs $35 to have UPS pack and ship it. (It's 30lbs)

I rebuild steering boxes and I'm always looking for good cores. I'd rather not take them out the of the junkyard if I don't have to.

RE: Parting Out: 1982 300D Turbo - Simpler=Better - 04-05-2013

If you take the arm off the steering box it will fit into a flat rate ($15?) box.
A closeup photo of the top of the box near the allen screw will tell him all he needs to know.

Haha Sorry. I'll have to look more closely for rust on the steering box. it has a nice coat of motor oil from the leaking everything, so i'm going to say that there's little rust.

No, sorry. The tie rods were all stuck and rusted. I didn't want to fuck with it. haha. I'm picking up another W123 in the next week or so. It's running/driving, so hopefully the system won't be so jammed up.

I'm looking for cores, hopefully for cheap.

Greazzer's can be put on a car without any reconditioning. I'd rather have the grease-covered, leaking or spare ones from someone's soon to be crushed parts car.
