Garrett T25 Boost Pressures - Joaquin Suave - 03-02-2013

I have fit my new hybrid MTDI pump to my OM602 DE2.9LA motor and after getting the advance figured out (PITA), I am now working on the fuel delivery. I've "turned up the screw" and now the motor is slightly "peppier" than when it was electronic (and with the same or slightly higher EGT's)... However, I can't seem to get the boost to go any higher than 9 PSI (.62 bar).

Surely a Garrett 25 turbo should be able to produce quite a bit more boost!

Do you guys have any input?

Look into adjusting the wastegate. Or pinch actuator hose shut temporarily.

I assume you don't have exhaust restrictions, I have seen a clogged catalyst keep the boost down on a T3.

Last night I went as far as cutting up the wastegate accuator making the rod an adjustable "stop" to lock the wastegate closed.

And still no more than 9 lbs.

I'm running 3" exhaust tubing.

It could be a worn out waste gate actuator I had similar problems on a stock t3 in a 1982 300cd. If the spring is weak it can be open just by the exhaust pressure! I cut the waste gate hose plugged it off and still only 8psi

i'm using 1.2bar(1.3bar with Alcohol injection) with mechanical 6mm pump.

turbo can produce 1.5bar max..

I am getting 28 psi on standard fueling without ALDA if I hold accelerator to the floor for to long from standing start. Waste gate control is disabled. While driving no more than 18 psi while flooring.
In your case it looks like you are not getting anough fuel.
