It seems me that there are really a bunch of arrogant self righteous clown eating the peaches. I am afraid to get involved in anything over there. No joking or anything.

You are being somewhat coy, but I think I know what you mean. You are talking about PP?

RE: peaches - lgreeley83 - 02-17-2013

I'm afraid to say it but yeah. Lots more traffic but more trolls too.

STD is where it's at! I think if I did my turbo 240 project there, I would have been put down like a sick cat.

RE: peaches - lgreeley83 - 02-17-2013

Lol I had a few beers in me and I was reading over there. Seemed like almost all posts some guy is being a bastard about something. I imagine the biggest highschool nerd empowered poping a pimple than smacking me in the mouth or something. I should probably let it go.

nnot that its bad to be a nerd.

Probably go make out with some equally arogant pimply fat chick afterwards. Now I'm done.

Pal of mine put this thread up on PP without any flak. BW may be better but it takes for ever to load with all the peripheral rubbish on their site.

Hearing him drive away in a clack-aty-clack 380SL was too cool

I've been on this forum for a couple years, and never seen you say anything out of line.

RE: peaches - lgreeley83 - 02-23-2013

Jesus just reading over there again. Ugh.

Let me just say thanks to all in here now. I'm glad your not douche bags. Makes my reading more enjoyable.

Ugh.

RE: peaches - JB3 - 02-26-2013

I go there to argue occasionally on the OD for entertainment, though its tough to run the fine line between getting an infraction and enjoying yourself. if you get sucked into OD you waste a lot of time.

diesel discussion is decent though. Just avoid the open discussion.

Purplecomputer just installed the type of axles you want if you check his thread for a reference pic, I see what you are meaning now after reading that thead. Don't know what that post is about but I believe in that last post he's wondering why no one ever defined between homokenetic and annular. Though he could be making another "homo" crack or setting up for one. Just use the whole work if you want to avoid that.

Basically its the difference between a two piece axle and a one piece axle, both fit into the diff in exactly the same way, and both fit into the older housing diffs with an external bolt flange related to the bearing/seal. The diffs look phyically different, but fit both style axles the same way, with a circlip on the inside.

If you go for the two piece, you only have to install the inner portion one time by opening the diff. I can never remember which is which by name personally.

You can take that inner part of the homokenetic (right name I think?) And install it on a later diff without issue, one with a slightly different case that doesn't have bolts on the outside

RE: peaches - Druk - 07-11-2013

^Wot he said.

Here is my 107 with both types of axleshaft. This happened during tour of Germany in 2004 when just off the ferry one of them threw it's bearings. We made it to Merc in Freiburg, Sth Germany where they said the older type plug-in shafts are no longer available. What they do is fit the flange part from a W124 to the diff then a W123 axleshaft bolts direct to that. The upshot is after a thousand or so miles the diff started to whine and I suspect it was because of the imbalance between the two differing shafts. Both shafts are now flanged type as pic in other diff thread; but this way is NOT cheap. In 2004 the repair costs €820 €uro.

.But at least you know that W124 plug-ins fit a W123 case. they're supposed to be set up with a dial gauge and shims to the correct end float.

RE: peaches - lgreeley83 - 07-11-2013

I was just referring to the lack of contribution. He went in complaining while at the same time doing exactly was he was complaining about. I don't think that would happen her at std.

Yeah when reading about the axle types that did help a lot. I have one of each in my car. Gonna swap out the beer can for the other style.
