1979 Mercedes 240D $2000 - Purplecomputer - 12-07-2012

Just realized I posted this in the wrong section.

I have pictures now.

I replaced the Diaphragm. but still has a weak vacuum. Just found out the driver side front caliper is dead but I ordered a new one (ATE) and it will come with the car.

The engine runs.

like i said last time, any part I have will come with the car. and I mean everything

here are some pic's in its current condition.

RE: 1979 Mercedes 240D $2000 - OM616 - 12-07-2012

"The engine runs"???.... That’s all you have to say about it?? LOL

I will give you a hand based on what I am aware of regarding your car.

It has a turbocharged 616 engine, (I do not know what turbo it has), mildly modified Prechambers, and the Governor has been turned up. Also boost and EGT gauges.

This is a 4-speed car so with the turbo and tuned up Governor, this will be a very fun car to drive. If it runs anything like mine, it will walk by a 300D off the line all day long.

2,000 is a steal. If I wasn't saving up for responsible adult purchases I'd be on this like hot damn.

I'm 95% sure I'll be kicking myself in the ass for not buying it later.

Wanna trade for a bike or two? I've got two 600cc sport bikes. A semi-stripped FZR(500 miles on the motor) and a fightered out Ninja.

At first you're all 'oh that's an ugly bike blah blah blah motorcycles are stoopid' Once you drive a fighter in traffic you won't go back. Pan handlers don't ask for change, the horn scares people in minivans, and the exhaust makes everyone with eardrums stay off your tail, and you can outmaneuver anything. Get through traffic jams faster than you could ever imagine.

I would consider a trade but I need the cash to put towards another car. I use my car for my job and I usually carry computer/ computer parts all day long so I would need a trunk.

You should still buy the car :3

RE: 1979 Mercedes 240D $2000 - Purplecomputer - 12-10-2012

Well ive got this car for sale here and locally but no one seems interested. Im getting a new car today and I think I am going to keep working on the car. Slowly restoring it and if I get a buyer while Im working on it I will sell it. Otherwise I might keep it. Who knows. I am not in a rush to sell anymore and It might be a good hobby now for me since I have a daily driver.

Let me know if yall are still intersted.
