RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Simpler=Better - 12-09-2012

Awesome!! That's a tight clearance for the turbo, have you considered putting some kind of a heat shield in there?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-10-2012

oh yes, it tight, and no, I'm not going to use a shield there, its not nessesery Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-10-2012

and its runnin, preaty hard, but its getting there Wink

Wow you are working on your projectSmile Great to see that the engine you got from me is running already, but you said "pretty hard"?
Can you make a video?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-12-2012

yes, I'm workin LATE houers, fortunely i don't start before 8.30 at work, but i work on my car from 5 too 01:30-02:00
I dont need too, I have fixed the problem, I had sett the timing att the pump to 15 BTDC instead of 15 ATDC :p

So, all i need now is too make a throttle wire Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-13-2012

the car is working, but a small problem, the clutch slips as soon as i tuch the throttle..
its bogging me xD
so i need a new clutch :p

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - EDH_Performance - 12-13-2012

Have you checked the clutch cylinder for play? Maybe the cylinder is not freeing the pressure plateWink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-13-2012

its the pressure plate that dont have enough pressure on the disk Wink
un mounted it today Wink
sending it to a mechanical workshop near by, so it will be done tomorrow and I can drive it throug the weekend :p

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-14-2012

sorry for BAD quality, I'm gonna pick up my camera and take som pictures next weekend Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - w123love - 12-14-2012

Wow that looks so incredibly simple! What kind of clearance issues did you have? Were the motor mounts a big issue?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-15-2012

clearance is not a big issue..
i used original w124 motor mounts at drilled new hoels in the cross frame that originaly holds the engine..
and custom hoses for water and oil, zero problem, I did it in a week Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-17-2012

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-18-2012

yes, 7mm, I'm going to try to build it my self Big Grin
it won't get the resaults that göran or pasi makes, but, I'm gonna try Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-19-2012

I don't have a bench, but a co-worker can borow one, and he has good experience with this, so I hope it will be good..
I really dont know what they are from, it's something they sell In germany..
and it's labbled for Mercedes M pump with ann Merdedes parts number..
259.89£ for 6 elements and a restoration kit for the pump Wink

Ahh, shit elements! Hard idle and not a good fuel pathSad

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - erling66 - 12-20-2012

I think you should try to install them yourself but not without a bench for adjustment of fuel delivery. Maybe you will have good results and can prove them wrongSmile Remember they are Bosch and they are build for a TRANSIT so I am sure they are greatBig Grin

The amount is one thing, but the phase of each elements is hard to do without a testbench...And gøran grinds and modify brackets and modify the guvenor pretty much to get the results he getsWink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-21-2012

yes I will buy and mount them, but I'm not intrested in 500cc's this time, I have sendt a Pump to PP diesel for that..
Im just looking for better performance for may daliy driver, and when a am done with the restorations I will butt on a larger turbo and moooore fuel Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - MFSuper90 - 12-22-2012

This is a cool project!

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 12-24-2012

5 of 5 stars. thats really awesome, even if my english sucks att best :p
but, the car i working preatty good, just nead some more fuel, it isn't happy with so little fiel, only 5mm element with MAX adjustet pump :p
try to get some 6mm elements from Erling soon.. so 7mm in January or somthing Wink
happy holidays diesel freaks Big Grin

just to have a little update on the prodject, I've instaled an EGT gauge, and its prety neat Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 01-30-2013

now, let's do a little update here..
I've bought a new 6 speed tranny for it, a small but usefull intercooler and new front disc's, all from Erling66, thanks for the parts, and a nice merch talk Wink
I have orderd some flanges for a Manifold, so I'm also going to weld that thing togheter (looking forward to it)
and build a manifold with T6 flage and a BW KKK 31 or 29 in the en of it, pulse split also,
then mount the new 7,5mm pump from PP and the 6 speed, might gotten my hand on a torqe diff from Bakaksel.se also Wink
soon some new pictures will be posted Wink

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 01-31-2013

hy there, Someone's reading my post that can tell me where I can get a diff lock for this car??
it neeed's one really bad xD

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - bruno_pinho - 01-31-2013

So did not buy the elements of dieselkontor?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 01-31-2013

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 01-31-2013

(01-31-2013, 03:14 PM)bruno_pinho So did not buy the elements of dieselkontor?

Oh, I have bought them, but the test Bench i has acsses to, coulden't take in line pumps :/
So Its not so fun, and i really can't wait any more ;p
But, the home made pump will be built and used om my
1991 OM603 w124 tdt prodjekt, when i weld rust and such om this one ;p

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - w123love - 01-31-2013

Thats good thinking sliding it right in there. Do you have an air temp sensor to see how effective the intercooler will be?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 02-01-2013

No, i have not got so far yet, little tight budsjet, but it will come sooner or later.. xD
just waiting for my PPD pump, and build a manifold to suport the huge KKK K31 turbo, then wi'll se
if it work's proporly :p

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - erling66 - 02-02-2013

Hi Kent

Looks like you are not going out of work for the next few monthsSmile
Have you ordered a PP pump for your W123? 7,5 mm or 8,5 mm elements?
I think you should see how well the HX35 will work before you consider to put on the KKK K31.
Nice work on the IC, did you weld it yourself?

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 02-02-2013

I've order the 7,5mm monthes ago, somthing went wrong with the payment, but now things are in shape the clerk told me Wink
I am really Intrested in a 8,5
but I will see how the 7,5 fills my need for horse's and torqe..
I'm going to drive it with the HX35 a week or so, I assume it will be a little bit to small
I've seen then with 40's and so on, and thay really get going ;p
I'll se how it works in two weeks, if the pump has arrivde yet Smile
and now, like it's not enough work on the prodject build, I need to get it PKK serified, or M.O.T as it's english word I think.
and its a hole lot of rust I've been welding in the floor section ;p
some pics of that will be posted soon Smile
no Erlig, I welded the crack's in the dent myself, but the "shorting" of the IC, Dagestad maskinverksted did for me, a lokal
steel chop neer by.
I did not take the chance of ruining it, couse it's the only one I've found that fits like this :p
so, now I'm going home to sleep and continue tomorrow Big Grin

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - MFSuper90 - 02-05-2013

K31?!??!! That turbo is massive for a little om606.

If i recall correctly a K31 has a 71mm inducer.

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - Ksteen2 - 02-07-2013

RE: Ksteen's W123 daily driver - erling66 - 02-10-2013

Your new manifold is looking goodSmile
Do you have a photo of the inside of the flange?
I think you should have some support brackets for that heavy turboUndecided

No I dont, but I can take one.
