Greetings - Diesel - 05-28-2009
So yeah, I don't have benz of the turbo diesel variety, but I thought I'd register and hang out to see if I can learn a thing or 2.
Current diesels in the stable are a 73 220d 4spd which I picked up in December as a project for me and to rescue from a likely demise if it fell into someone else's hands.....(my 1st diesel benz BTW)
Fantasizing of doing a 617.952 transplant.....but that's way over my head in terms of DIY skill and budget.....we'll see what happens
Also have a 03 Jetta TDi wagon 5spd for a daily driver.
Found this place from the link on FI's youtube page.
I hope he doesn't get banned here too.

Just .205 nozzles, H&R springs, koni shocks, 16" LeCastellet wheels.

The 73 is a 115? There have been a few om617 swaps into those.

There are om617 on CL regularly for $6-700 down here. If you want me to look at one I'd be happy to. There is a 91 2.5 turbo om60x that a guy is selling the engine out of. 5 speeds are ALOT easier to find for those.
