w115 NA intake vs w123 NA intake - turbo_reboot - 07-27-2012

the om617 fitted in the non turbo w123 http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/thread-3560.html?highlight=intake+manifold has slightly higher torque values then the high rise one in the w115 - both at the same 2400 rpm.
is this due to the longer and straighter runners making the helmholtz effect work better on the w123 or did MB make some OTHER enhancements to the later engine?
would this intake, providing you can get the t3 turbo to fit, be more advantageous than the w115 intake at the proper rpms?

Mbz made changes in pistons, prechambers and possible cam.

Has anyone on here tried swapping around cams off of one of these? Is there a possibility that the NA engines camshafts might add a little? I have access to several earlier 617 NA engines and always wondered about that.
