I replaced and older castiron with an aluminum body today. The shifter rods are completely different. Luckily the aluminum body came with the 240d shifter rods and I was able to whittle them down.

What do you want for the old bellhousing from cast iron unit?

Good question. I was going to try to rebuild one out of 2 and toss the old one. Kind of a longer term project.

Other differences. Throwout bearing arm is a different size. The speedo on the iron one is slotted where the aluminum is the square driver.

Cool I'll take the one you throw out... You only need one bellhousing... But then again, shipping may cost about the same as one from my local yard.
