200 hp out of om603.971 - ontum - 05-26-2012

Hello all,

I have an om 603.971 that is in need of a new turbo. So I thought this would the appropriate time to do what ever modifications I need to get more low end power.

I will be putting this engine in my G wagen and will be using this off road a bit.

What do I need to do to achieve 200 horsepower without going to expensive?

Thanks,
Craig

A pump with 6mm elements would do the trick, and a more effective turbo on standard turbomanifold...Then you would easy get 200hp+

If i had some money to spend, I would buy an presicion turbo or a Mastepower.. I have no experience with the holset turbos, but isn`t the hx35 quit small? I think it would do the trick!

Here are some candy for youSmile

Does anyone know what the part number is for the 6mm elements, the part number, or where to get them?

Who can install them? I reside in Oregon and I think there may be some places in California that rebuild mercedes injection pumps.

The precision and masterpower turbos seem to run between 700-800$, which is a bit out of my price range. Is there an available turbo I could find used for cheaper? Or can I get a new cartridge for the turbo housing I have now?

Here is the condition of my current turbo.

You get 6mm elements off a 98-99 electronic E300d pump. You go find a used one. Easier than figuring out Bosch part numbers and then wondering where to get them.

Unless you find a pump at a pick and pull for cheap, I'd prefer new 7.5mm elements or something, since new elements themselves are about the price of used 98 pump.
