Nice score at the strip lot today - JustPassinThru - 04-27-2012

In a box in the trunk of a just-arrived '79 280CE which has a small-block Chevy engine, blue paint, beige interior, U.S. Federal bumpers, all glass good (no defogger wires on the rear though) (*edited*, next day: *oh yes it does* have rear defogger wires; little eensy ones, almost invisible, they run vertically), only damage is a crease along the right front fender; from papers in the glovebox it looks like the only reason the car was junked is some trouble with the law its owner is in:
Maintenance Manual Volume 1, 1972, covering all models 200D through 600.
Service Manual, Engine 110, Volumes 1 and 2, 1983.
Service Manual, Chassis and Body, Series 123, Volumes 1 and 2, 1987.
Service Manual, Heating, Air Conditioning, Automatic Climate Control Model 123, 1988.

Also took:
A battery tray with not much rust on it a'tall.
A high-capacity windshield washer reservoir.
Bundt with the spare tire, looks like it never left the trunk.
Gray carpet-pile trunk mat. Looks new on top, though a few cracks on the underside, but not bad.

Total, $65.

Going back tomorrow to check the shocks and diff. Interesting radiator, but no oil cooler. Right taillight is pristine, but I've got enough of 'em.
