I'm pretty sure there are some folk in indiana and other parts of illinois, maybe you could talk about a midwest meet?
Best option is to see what existing GTG are already happening in these areas over on BW and PP, there might be something pretty close, that's a pretty well populated area.
Members on this board seem to be pretty well spread out though

I get by there sometimes. My dad is in Glen Ellyn and my GF family in Carol Stream. Wouldn't have time to do any mechanicin but you could look at my dented car and check out the oil patch I leave in your driveway

Im in Elk grove village just NW of O'hare, but im all over the place. I go to elmhurst college, my pops is chi proper, family in western burbs near fox river. We have got to do it up!
I should probably check the car show schedule too.

We could see who's patch is bigger
I could meet you at a gas station or coffee spot and buy you a beverage for the road. I've looked at some of your threads and see some similar things with my car. Love to pick your brain for even just five minutes.
Funny when i write that i think i could say that to anybody on the forum here and it would apply. So much great info.
