Advice on installing a manual pump on an OM605 - ChasesDragons - 02-22-2012

Hi all,
I have an OM605.960 from a UK C250 Turbo Diesel. I am planning on putting this into my 1969 W114 CE.

I would like to replace the current electronic pump with a manual version to reduce some of the electrical headaches.

Any ideas on which one to look for? I would like one with the same or better qualities of the original IP.

Thank You

Look for a IP from w124 250d, or dt...
If you want noticable better perfomance, you probably want to get the pump rebuildt anyway...
If you use the intake manifold from the w124 20v 250d, the throttle linkages and the pump is pretty easy and bolt on, there will be an IP there too then..

Thanks very much, for the info, I will set about looking. I assume that the DT would have larger elements in them?

regards

Look for a pump from an OM602. It will have only 5.5mm elements, down from your 6mm but you can have a pump shop swap in the 6mm from your electronic pump or buy some 7 or 7.5mm for more performance.
