OM602.911 pump issue? - SuperCow - 02-16-2012

I have a 190D 2.5 liter 5 cylinder diesel.
The motor runs great...but in the RPM area 1200-1600 the engine doesn't like to run there. It makes knocking noise, and i need to give there more throttle.
Also when i run the engine to 1500 RPM and i give it slightly more throttle, like 1 mm, it will run out of control to 4500 RPM. I didn't hold it any longer.
If the motor runs out of control, and i give it much less throttle, like half of what im doing, it runs to like 3000 rpm steady. Above 2000 RPM the throttle responds is as it should be, linear

You can see in the youtube when i give it throttle, the RPM will go up. but i hold the throttle steady.
Start at 25 sec:

Does someone recognize this, and how to fix it? Is it good to drive like this?
I think something sticks in the pomp so it doesn't correct the speed.

I have tested the compression and injectors. compression is on all 5 cylinders 30-31 bar. And injectors spray @ 115 bar and pattern is good.
Excuse me of my English.

Because of the injection nozzles or IP. As it makes a lot of loud noise I think it has bad injection nozzles.

It is normal. When you are driving it, this doesent happen.

Thanks for your responds,
So you think injectors? I had them tested, but not by a professional.
Can i drive like this? i dont have the money atm for testing/repairing the IP

Jes you can drive like this, nothing will happen. Although it may not be pleasent fo other people ears Big Grin
After about 100 000km this noise gets terribly bad.
Engine with bad injection nozzles has less kW/hp.

Running your engine on cooking oil totali loses this bad noise (lasts as long as you have cooking oil in your tank)

Yesterday i added veggie oil to it, about 50/50.
It only slightly reduce the noise around 1600rpm.
But i did notice (even before the veggie oil) that i don't have the knocking sound when the motor is cold. around 50-60 degree water temperate the knocking sound comes. And its only in the 1500-1700 rpm range.

When i bought the car the thermostat was broken so the motor temp didn't rise above 50 degree. The fuel-economy was also better i drove first 1 on 16
but its now around 1 on 12 (its colder now so should explain some)

I still have the problem.
I have orded LIQUI MOLY to do a purge.
