RE: Some might find this funny - iheartboost - 02-07-2012

is there a TL: DR version?

RE: Some might find this funny - w123love - 02-07-2012

Haha forced got a new account. He is too full of himself to not put his qualifications up in his signature

RE: Some might find this funny - JustPassinThru - 02-08-2012

His banning from STD happened at the time I was just getting the locks-'n'-windows fixed on my new-to-me 300D; my first post to this forum was a PM to him, an attempt to buy his GT2359V turbo, but he had been banned unbeknownst to me a day or two earlier.

Now I realize he overreacted harshly to dieselboy's statement of a 5750 rpm rate. And there were some other rudenesses to others as well.

Nevertheless, I think we should give credit where credit is due: he is undeniably an innovator. I plan to use his boost control system (http://mercedesforum.com/forum/diesel-performance-49/vnt-vgt-turbo-control-based-engine-load-49672/), or something similar to it, when I install my GT22V (or, just possibly, a modified GT23-something-V I might have a line on).

Yup -- I agree with JustPassinThru ... He's no dummy, but I don't care how smart someone is if he or she are rude or simply impossible to deal with in a discussion where the parties have a different opinion. It actually looks like he got banned on DB, but opened up a different account under a different name. So far, I stumbled into multiple forum pages where it looks like he got banned also. I guess he's consistent also.

He was banned because he is an asshole. lets avoid sugarcoating the past too much, huge amounts of the forum have had to be edited to get rid of bickering, not just issues with dieselboy, that would only be the most recent straw that broke the camels back, and FI had about 90 chances to amend his behavior, all of which he disregarded.

Innovator? smart guy? clever? good technical writer? all true.

Daily problems for moderation? unnecessary confrontation about everything? banned from almost every forum for the same BS? also true.

Hitler was a great whistler, doesn't mean id want to knock back a beer with him

I agree & have said all along that while his tech knowledge was great, even duct tape couldn't keep his vileness at bay. He even altered the code f this forum, so that you couldn't type in his name without it getting automatically edited & a few other nasties.

What really made me laugh was a "ASE certified" mechanic that repairs fleet vehicles actually thinking he could go to a smog referree with a stupid stack sticking out of his hood. I tried to warn him politely & got slapped down. Oh well... Hope his life improves....

RE: Some might find this funny - Simpler=Better - 02-09-2012

I take offense to that, hood stacks are AWESOME

Well, I really don't know what the forum administrator's perspective is. What I saw, speaking as an amateur armchair Freud, was evidence of a troubled personality, striking out in hopes of finding help, or at least some kind of viable resolution to internal conflicts. Many, many people nowadays are struggling under the strain of ...mm, heck, I can't remember what it's called...where observable reality is in conflict with long and deeply held beliefs. Ah, now I remember, it's called "cognitive dissonance." Dealing with cognitive dissonance is a tough challenge faced by an awful lot of people nowadays, especially those of us treading the fine tightrope line between genius and madness. I feel more sympathy than disdain for him, and hope he finds peace, the Lord, a decent single-malt Scotch, a good woman, a plush teddy bear, a sound diet, an inexpensive health club membership, and/or a good dog. Whatever parts of life he needs, that you can't find at a wrecking yard.

It's too bad he doesn't frequent Pirate4x4 more often. It usually becomes very entertaining as he is beat down for his trolling antics.
