RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - Ksteen2 - 01-30-2014

Have you changed valve springs?

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - hansebanger77 - 02-01-2014

No ksteen , never opend. If I blow the head up from the engine I want make some good head update. Not shure about the harder springs. There are a thread with big fail on valve ?
I think i have power enough up to 6000 I dont must rev higher. Ok if I must rebuild the head I could think about it :-)

(01-10-2014, 05:32 AM)hansebanger77 Hi guys !
Anybody can confirm that I can mount a 606 NA oilpan on my 606turbo block to have more space to the sway bar . Fits plug and play?
Thy

The opposite case also works. I have two engines, a 606.962 and a 606.912, on palettes in my garage. Both engines have oilpan Part # 606 014 08 02, which is a 606.962 oilpan. The 606NA engine, I pulled myself from a wrecked '97 300D, so it was being driven with the 606turbo oilpan.

Can you link to that thread?
I think it is because high revving on stock valvesprings...
Stock springs is really rubbish, only 17-18kg ratingSad
Kmcams spring is good for about 8000rpm and have 38kg rating

Do you have mod some other things with this high ratio springs. I remind you have weld some stuff at the camshaft to the wheel for timing chain? Is it not more stress for the chain or some stuff ore harder to crank the engine ? Thx dani:-)

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - mantahead - 02-02-2014

i suppose, when you are running supercharger, injector pump with larger plungers and then stronger valve springs it going to put more pressure on the crank and cam sprockets.

those km springs at 38kg should be ok,
just saw mitsibishi 4g63 springs data,
Seat @ 1.50" = 85lbs
.473" = 202lbs
Max Recommended Lift: 12mm

You must drill and secure the sprocket on the intake camshaft because this is just pressed on:S

And i drilled and installed an extra wedge on the cranckshaft timing gear for extra protectionWink

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - Duncansport - 02-02-2014

I found that these springs from a ford modular 4.6 are about the same size and offer twice the seat pressure at 1.470 as the stock 605/606. You do need to change the lower spring seat.
These are 90lbs @ 1.470 and i measure my 605 springs at 25-40lbs at 1.500.

I think the KM cams springs are the best bet for most as they are a drop in. But for me ( someone who always does things his own way ) i was happy buying the spring seats and springs from someone local (comp cams) for $250 shipped.

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - raysorenson - 02-03-2014

2v 4.6? There's a date split on 4.6/5.4 2v springs that seems to correspond to moving over to the PI heads. '96-'98 takes a F6AZ-6513-AA for intake and exhaust. '99 up takes XL3Z-6513-AA for both valves.

Hi Demenyteam, welcome to forum.

Yes, there is a solution for that, search in Drivetrain section and look a thread from the same author of this thread, somebody post a electronic conversor from electric signal to mechanical, Abbott-tach is the manufacturer, product "Cable X".

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - Tovikblacksmoke - 02-19-2014

Hai again! Do you run with stock injector openingpressure? Or do you have it rebuild to 150bar?
You get 180cc on 7.5mm? I just told i get 140-150cc on 7.5mm...

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - hansebanger77 - 02-22-2014

Hello. The injectors Open normal pressure. Do you think its better to 150bar?
Yes pump is build for 180cc 7.5 but it's not fully adjust. Perhaps 160-170 i running now.

Please do another one like it. That final drive by near the end... omg... that is music right there! You sir have set the bar.

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - Tovikblacksmoke - 02-23-2014

Gøran on dieselmeken says its better that the injector opens at 150bar.. What different it wil make am i not sure off.. Maybe you can find out Big Grin? And make this beauty even better Big Grin

You have dieselmeken pump? and got 180cc out of 7,5 mm.. hmm why was i told i only get 150cc.. Confused

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - hansebanger77 - 02-24-2014

Yes i have DM pump.
It could be that You get 150cc adjusted and if you not destroy your engine than you have a bit reserve for more. Or vou have order a pump for about 400hp than you never need a monster pump. It depends what you want to do with it. Better it's nice calibrated pump, than a pump on limit that make some fail. There are more tricky adjustments than the most think.
Best is you contact himself and tell him your project he have the right pump for you.

...thx NGAROVER nice that you like it, run still fine with the new turbo. If I get time for next upgrades on car I will make new vid for sure.

still orginal dual mass flywheel?

RE: my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel - Duncansport - 10-31-2014

hansebanger77- Are you still using a precision turbo? Ive been back and fourth on my 605 if i will go a PTE, EFR or a HE351cw. Strongly leaning toward EFR7670 as i like the fit and finish of having a big internal wastegate.

I think it was sachsperformance.com

I call them and ask for better clutch for w124 300d. The guy was friendly and sad yes its no problem they make the pressure plate a bit stiffer so it have more pressure to the disc. I send him the PP
they also make better organic pads. But the funny part was that the pp give 10% perhaps the disc update also 10%. So if it's rated 200nm + 20% I don't get 800nm:-)
So ok I tested long ago with only the better pp and it was the same sh..
so we fabricated a stock disc with 4 sinterpads that holds the amount out torque. It's on limit but it's holds

Btw. Yes Sachs performance could make a clutch system spezial fab for cars like ours. But not to pay for me.

How mutch nm do you have?

I think Best result was about 440hp and 780nm
But with the old hx40 6blade comp.
Now it feels more but not dyno now. Hope soon we will see. :-)

no the wastegate is running in free and its coms exhaust out off the wastegate at idling. did yours do that?

This got me curious as i'm swapping a om603 for a om606 with mechanical pump myself. Did you have to use the register wheel and vacuum pump from your 603 engine?
