w123 manual transmission question - TheDon - 08-12-2011

Got my spare 4 speed for my 240D to swap in. The only difference is the reverse shift lever is upside down compared to mine.

See the bottom arm. Can they be removed and flipped or will that not work? I couldn't find the shifter rods that were supposed to go with the transmission.

I'm replacing my current transmission because 1st gear is not working at all.
I need to double check. I have an '82 and loping at the sticky on the manuals the curtsy transmission in my car is the aluminum body 4 speed.

Nevermind. I just went out and looked. Shift levers are oriented the same. The only difference is the last 4 or 5 digits of the transmission number.

IIRC there is a allen bolt in that hole in the arm, can you confirm?
