anyone know the normal system pressure for SLS? - 300D50 - 06-18-2011

Been looking in all the FSM's I've come across, can't seem to find a single one that lists the system pressure...

Whole deal is I'd like to throw a tandem pump in my truck and use the PS side for PS, and the SLS side for HydroBoost, since the GM pumps are freaking huge and I'd rather keep it Benz, Bosch, or Mitsubishi...

Of course, if I can get 1500 PSI out of a Benz PS pump by shiming it, and it doesn't grenade/boil fluid, I'll be happy. Smile

It's over 2000psi. Although the pump is not always under pressure.

please elaborate , i was wondering the output of these pumps as well , you said they are not always under pressure?. i too woill be trying to adapt a hydro boost brake setup .
i have a 617 from a 300tdt, so i garbed the reservoir and lines . these pumps a big bucks new , so i dont want to remove it Smile
plus not needing vacume is nice

The sls valve is not always putting a load on the pump, it recirculates fluid most of the time.

Sounds like a good fit for brakes to me-it should only be under load when you're braking, right?

SLS spec pressures:
min 130 / max 185 bar
idle 130 bar
you just need to know where to look...

i see , thanks you for posting this speck Austincarnut . as far as the Recurc Valve for this pump is it internal to the pump or would it have been in the associated plumbing still on the car? i only grabbed the high pressure hose that went to a Tblock i believe , and the low feed to the pump still on the resivior.
is this valve , rpm regulated or pump out put , across rpm?
im still not sure the opp range of most hydro boosters so ill look into it .

RE: anyone know the normal system pressure for SLS? - aaa - 01-25-2013

The valve is in the rear suspension and is controlled by the rear suspension height. The pump just pumps away all the time.

i see, thank you so the pumps out put is variable 130 -180 , depending on rpm . then the valve it the back decides whether the resiviors want more or less to do there thing ? i think i can still get that valve from the parts car. just incase . but ill find out if the boosters operate a constant ,regulated or bypassed . i suppose , as long as the hyboost in the same psi range . it should be a matter of lines and a couple valves . maybe a fancy fill can for the return .
