blacksmoke/greysmoke - BRABUS - 06-18-2011

Hi

Can some one please tell my why it first came black smoke out of my exhaust, and then after some months it is more grey than black when engine is cold and when it is varm its back to blacksmoke but whit some grey also..

What does the grey smoke mean?

There is nothing smoke at all, if i put the alda valve on. (running without it now)

I thought grey was pretty normal on startup/warmup.

i also tried searching and found out the same. But strange that it didnt smoke grey before after some months.. Some one tipped me about bad timing or stuck injector? any ideas

When my injection pump timing was off, I had all gray smoke and no black. Fixed the timing and the smoke turned black again Cool

maybe my ip timing is off a little bit then. But how is that possible? maybe i should wait and se what happens when i install the 7.5mm ip next weekend..

I dunno how it would suddenly change, but I know gray smoke generally as incomplete combustion. Is it running good? When my smoke was gray, the it was running like poop

RE: blacksmoke/greysmoke - BRABUS - 06-18-2011

its hard to say. because the tranny is slipping so much at full load. But at normal throttle its no smoke.

My 240d's would smoke grey after sitting for a few months with out running it clears up after driving for awhile!

The pumps move the littlest amount if not tight and with the torque on it it will retard the timing.
