Throttle Linkage Upgrade - Greazzer - 05-14-2011

I saw where Mr. Manny had a cable set-up for his acceleration - fuel pedal.
Has anyone done this in a W123 ? In my clunker, the rubber bushing insert next to the firewall is rotten and is virtually collasped. Instead of spending $25 to get a new component, I think a cable would be much better, more responsive, et cet.

Has anyone done this in their W123 with the 617 engine? If so, can you please share? Pictures and donor car suggestions would be great. Advice, and whether or not you are happy with the change?

Thanks!

Am will try to make one work for mine, Hope to have it pull on the passenger side of the valve cover so the cable doesn't have to do the big loop on the drivers side...

Right Hand Drive. Shorter cable that way.

Ahhh there you go! haha

I looked at it today and with a cut and a weld, it can easily be done. I will do it, maybe in a week or two though

I have a cable (bowden cable ??) that sits on top of the valve cover and it routes down on the passanger side. What does this do ? Do I need this ? Thanks.

That cable controls transmission shift points, I would recommend keeping it. Smile

Don't really use my cable because I shift the car manually anyway!
