fs springs - larsalan - 04-25-2011

Ok, got the front springs out. Dunno how to get the rear ones out, the spring compressor I borrowed couldn't fit in there. But maybe I can get them out when I chop through the frame Wink

Also, I wonder how in the h#ll you're supposed to work that compressor. Even after I compressed the springs I still needed to take apart the upper control arm to get the mf out of there.

oh and a power steering pump too.

How much shipped to 98033? Don't really wanna chop the stockers. Fronts only.

RE: fs springs - larsalan - 04-26-2011

They are about 30lbs and 18in long. Would you look into the shipping and we could figure a price? There's some rust on there but would brush off with a flap disc.
I'll try and get the backs off too.

Damn... Not short enough for a flate rate box.

RE: fs springs - larsalan - 04-26-2011

usps about 50
ups about 40
fedex about 35

That's all from their online estimators. Wanna pay 50 on top of the shipping?

holy shit... Lemme check my H&R sources first Wink

Did you use the plate compressor? You want to rotate the plates all the way to the top and bottom.

RE: fs springs - larsalan - 04-27-2011

Plate compressor? I just borrowed a strut spring compressor from the autopart store
[Image: SpringCompressor.jpg]

How can I get the back springs out? The bolts on that one I borrowed were way too long to fit in the area.

RE: fs springs - Biohazard - 04-27-2011

I've pulled the rear springs several times now. The easy way is remove the shocks, remove swaybar links, loosen the subframe mounting bolts about 1/2 inch. Put a jack under the rear diff and then unbolt the rear diff mount. Lower the rear end down and the springs just fall right out!

RE: fs springs - larsalan - 04-27-2011

Ok, I'll try that. If it ever stops raining and I can get a day off work.

Now have all the springs if anyone wants a whole set. $60 +shipping
