Waste motor oil as fuel. Homebrew ethanol for water/ethyl-alchohol injection.

Any recipes for sugar/yeast/water? Who are the moonshiners?

1) you'd spend an eon filtering it, and it'd still be the wrong viscosity.
2) cheaper to buy denatured alcohol in bulk, you'd spend much more in sugar prices, and if you didn't get ti perfect you'd accidentally make vinegar.

1)Yes, will need to add diesel or kero to the umo. Will not spend $4 per gallon. The oil is free just need to go pick up 55 gal drums. Kinda a pita but, that's like ~$180 of fuel.

2)No, have you ever done it? Just a milk jug, 2 cups of white sugar and a pack of yeast. How the hell is yeast going to make vinegar?
Yeast just turns sugars into co2+ethenol. Already in water just don't want any solids, sugar, or co2.

1) If you cut it, you should be good, thought you meant straight engine oil. A gallon of oil for 7 of diesel would be what I'd try. The real issue is the possible contaminants that can't be filtered, so make sure there's nothing really bad in the batch.

2) If you let the yeast get air, and let it go too long, the secondary fermentation is to vinegar. Just ask anyone who ever had an airlock that leaked.
I don't have a detailed cost analysis, but it is much cheaper to buy denatured alcohol and mix it in this case. If it were for general consumption, it'd be cheaper for sure.
I encourage you to try it, even if just as a learning experience. Just don't get expect gallons and gallons of alcohol cheaper than a can of denatured.

Sorry if any of it came across as condescending, I'm just trying to help.

EDIT:
Found a site that can help you out a bit, it's easier than if I tried explaining the how and what of it.

Not that I support this idea in any way shape or form.

Would you drink a sand milkshake? No? Why make your car drink it?

Why make your car drink it?
^ because of $ free is better than $4 per gallon.
The car cost $500. I love is and all but, there are more to be had.

I didn't know about that vinegar chemistry. I guess that's why they call it 'distilled vinegar'.
I would try more like 10gal wmo/ 1 gal kero

the point is to cut fuel cost.

Also probably right that's too much trouble just look for a sale on isopropyl at walgreens.

RE: very cheap - 300D50 - 03-02-2011

$33 for 5 gallon of denatured at sears last I knew.

I'd go no more than 40% oil, 60% kero/offroad.
