So does that mean the San Antonio PnP is a bit of a rarity?

Been through Monthan a few times on "field" trips when I was in aviation school. Incredible place.

Thats not shabby tantank.

This is my home away from home :

This is where my OM617.951 and the parts for my war wagon came from:

http://local.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=880+Energy+Way,+Chula+Vista,+CA&sll=32.625786,-117.008514&sspn=0.11884,0.30899&ie=UTF8&ll=32.596884,-117.008536&spn=0.00743,0.019312&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr

If there's nothing there, just head up the road to the other yards there

http://local.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1180+Heritage+Rd,+San+Diego,+CA%E2%80%8E&sll=32.737615,-117.123766&sspn=0.474764,1.235962&ie=UTF8&ll=32.578534,-116.998172&spn=0.007431,0.019312&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr

The yards down here look a lot smaller than what you guys have shown out in TX and GA. The first link shows about 10 different yards, the second is close to 30-40 different yards.

They even have street view for one of the yards I frequent:

Just think how much all that cost us when new!

I spent about 6 hours there last weekend. I just wish they would indicate if a car is a 300D, SD or E on the car listing... Driving 50 miles to find that no cars have the water pump pulley I need is really annoying.

RE: Pull a part could learn a thing or two from the gubment. - tantank79 - 03-25-2009

Unfortunately, that's the risk of PnP. I too find if VERY annoying that they will not keep an inventory. I guess that's what you get when dealing with the wal-mart of junkyards. I do have to hand it to them for posting a price list. It really rubs me the wrong way when I go to the less professional yards and get the "Eh, 300 bucks I guess" type response.

There's another place on 35S outside 410 called "All Bimmers and Benzes." I have yet to go there, but I thought I would throw it out for consideration.

RE: Pull a part could learn a thing or two from the gubment. - ForcedInduction - 03-26-2009

They want you to enter the yard. Even if nobody buys anything, a few hundred people per day paying the $1-2 entry fee really adds up.

I love those types of yards. They are the kind of people that will give you a killer deal if you go there frequently and are sometimes willing to negotiate price on bigger stuff.

In little TJ (aka sun valley), there's over 100 junkyards in a 10 mile radius. Lucky me.

You guys are soooo lucky. If you actually find a MB in a yard up here, they charge you a premium cause of the star. At the pick-n-pull unless you are there within the first couple of days of the car getting put out, you're SOL the car looks like it just came from a Chicago back alley.
