722.6 Torque Converter Lockup in W220 S320CDI - Riverstick - 01-16-2011

Looking for some information on improving the transmission on my W220 S320 CDI. The car drives very well and shifts satisfactorily. What I am planning to do is tune the engine a little(maybe 300BHP)but the CDI is a high torque low revving unit. To take maximum advantage of this I would need the shift points signicantly lower and I would like to see torque converter lockup at 1000rpm. My W211 E220CDI 722.6 automatic locks up at 1200rpm and performs magnificently whilst returning a consistent 1000km for each tankful of diesel.

(1) Do we just do this by programming....and if so is this done by an engine chiptuner or by a Merc dealer? or is there an aftermaket variable tuning box which can be installed just like some American pick up trucks.

(2) Do we intall a torque converter like this? http://www.protorqueconverters.com/2.html

(3) Do we use some Lucas oil in the transmission as we have used this in our heavy trucks with great results http://www.lucasoil.com/

(4) Should we just fit a 6 speed transmission. The availabilty of a gearbox, pedal box, pedals or the work involved etc doesn't bother me too much but can it be done electronically? In other words, can the vehicle onboard ecu(s) be reconfigured to run a manual transmission?

All points of view greatly appreciated!
