valve adjustment needed in New York area. - W116Lorinser - 11-24-2010
i have a 1980 300sd turbo diesel om617 that needs a valve adjustment. i lost the wrenches the last time i did it and would rather have a proffesional adjust them this time around.
Can any of you turbo diesel guys be willing to do the valve adjustment or know of any shops that know how to do the valve adjustment in the NY, NJ area.

and we have to do this with the engine cold correct?

Yeah it has to be cold. We can go for a ride in the 300d.

Ive done them HOT but you have to set them to a different spec and you have to work fast! And expect to get burned doing it but its more accurate when done that way!

Yeah I'd just wait for a cold engine. I can't wait to see a 116 up close I never have. It has the same trim style as mine but nicer.

I have a big soft spot for w116's.
I had one that probably saved my life, would i have been in any other car im pretty sure i would have been smooshed.
There just BIG OL BOATS cruisin down the road, i definetly want another 116 oneday.

I loved both of my w116 turbo diesels! They have an elegance about them the last pretty big Benz! But I like the w126 a lot also!
