Injection Pump Seal - Duckinator17 - 10-06-2010

The seal between the injection pump and block has a major leak. Is it possible to just back out the injection pump, slide the gasket in w/o having to recalibrate/re-time anything? Thanks.

No. The oil filter housing must be removed. Any time the injection pump is moved it must be retimed.

Oil filter housing.. yay. I've removed and replaced that thing 3 times already.. shouldnt be too hard now!
Retiming, simple enough I would hope.
Thanks Forced.

P.S- You work @ Swift don't you? What kind of engines do they got in their Freightliners and Volvo's?

IP timing is cake.

Oil filter housing removal..... I cant get it off Sad

You don't have to remove the oil filter housing to remove the pump, but you would have to remove the shut off vacuum pod and as you pull the pump toward the back of the engine you have to tilt the ass end up.

Ask Captain, he saw me do itBig Grin
