HOW DO YOU REPLACE AN ENGINE SHOCK!!! - turbo85 - 04-24-2010

[/b]I have a 1985 Mercedes 300d turbo diesel it is a w123 chassis and has the automatic transmission on the original 617 engine. a few months ago I was hit by a S10 SS pickup while I was parked he was going at least if not more than 46mph he hit me in the driver side front fender. although he totaled his p.o.s Chevy on my car all the damage that was done to my car was a bent spindle, damaged ball joint, dented the fender, and it APPARENTLY PUT A CRACK AND THE ENGINE SHOCK MOUNT BRACKET a few days later I was going down a bumpy dirt road, hit a big bump/dip at 15mph and it broke, however; the motor mount itself is fine and in great shape. I now have the replacement engine shock and bracket to go on the motor mount; I am on a very low budget so I must do it myself. I know that I have to take off the motor mount to replace the shock and I have to lift the engine but I can’t afford an engine hoist nor can I afford to pay for someone to help me. So what I need to know is how and where to lift the motor with a Hydraulic floor jack, and my homemade transmission jack (I will be doing this in my carport with the wheels either on the ground or on stands I have no Air compressor nor power tools) please help I am looking for advice on how to do this and will need to know what tools (such as wrenches, sockets (specialty sockets such as Allen or hex head sockets) and what sizes I will need.
Please I only welcome advice, lists of things needed, pictorials, phone calls, and emails please only reply if you either know or know someone who knows how to do this thank you

I don't think you even need to lift up the engine. It's all just a bunch of nuts. Tricky part is how the bottom nut spins the shock stem without coming loose, there's a flat part on the stem for you to hold onto with a wrench (7mm?) while you loosen.

I used an impact wrench to get that nut that spins took a sec but came off

Put a piece of plywood under the lower oil pan to spread the weight and lift from there.
