I just put new brakes on my 1980 w116 300sd and want to swap them to a 1980 w123 240d is that possible? I was trying to convert the w116 to a 4spd stick but I'm am buying a 1980 240d 5spd I'll probably just swap the turbo engine in to the 240 instead

I have vented rotors and calipers on my 1980 w123 off of a 1979 300sd w116!

But the same set up is on an early w126 and will also work as well!

You have to replace both the calipers and rotor because the caliper has to be wider! but it's a bolt on upgrade no modification required!

And the backplates.

I used the stock w123 backing plates!

And they fit under the stock 14"s. ~11" vented. I put the w126 brakes on my w116 so we are putting my brakes on a friends w123tdt.

I would think so my w116 had 14's on it! My w123 has 16x8 SL wheels so no problems there!

They where the same diameter just vented instead of non vented! thicker rotor and wider calipers!
