Timing chain replacement
The master link's center spacer is the one that fits looser around the pins. The one you mushroom the pins out over fits pretty tight. I got my dad to hold a sledge hammer against the back of the master link while I peened the pins over with a nail set.

RE: Timing chain replacement
All I see in my head is your avatar grinning like that while staking down a chain link! Hahahahaha!!

Good to know you can do it without the special tool though... Big Grin

I've been like my avatar through most of this project. This car is so pleasant to work on. My mom about her towels and dad about the floor is probably the worst part. I've been grinning the whole time.

LOL I do find the avatar hilarious. And when you made the comment about the toothbrush on the garage sink and not been shaving all week, all I could think was ... CAVEMAN!

RE: Timing chain replacement
This is my first night off because I ran out of parts. It was kinda nice to not have solvents and grease all over me in humid 90F weather.
