I register.......I immediately receive the activation e-mail and click the link to activate my account which sends me to a new window on the Schuman forums stating that an administrator needs to approve or review my account there......... but whoever is supposed to review my account for approval never does and I can't access the info I could really use.
I have tried sending messages using the "contact us" thing......nothing works.
Does anyone know a mod over there that can get me on?
I could really use the info in the W114/W115 section
Thanks!
LOL Don't think you'll get much help here from us. Most of us are banned or not playing favorites. Benzworld/Peachparts/MBCA couldnt help you? Any of those sites are far more heavily trafficked.
I haven't tried there......... yet.
Thanks!

RE: Schuman forum
They died the week in February-08 when Henry childishly banned 5 of his primary information contributors for "sharing proprietary information" with other forums. Now his forum is rotting in the mortuary waiting to be buried. Henry doesn't understand how a forum works. He thinks anything posted there is HIS and his ALONE, not to be discussed anywhere else. A forum is for helping EVERYONE, not just a select few.
His site has nothing new. We have far more performance related information (Publicly accessible too) and other forums (BenzWorld, MercedesShop) have exponentially more general problem help.
I'm a Super Moderator at MercedesForum and they have a "big" problem with spam too. What do the moderators do about it? We do our "jobs" and delete the spam as it appears. MercedesForum struggles to keep new members active as it is, making registrations require activation or making forums viewable only to members would kill the forum.
Spam shouldn't be a problem anyways. I think that people looking to modify their cars or fix them themselves should be intelligent enough to know not to buy anything from a spammer. Therefore, spam is nothing more than a visual nuisance.

RE: Schuman forum
Absolutely astonishing.........
I have been banned from the Schuman forum until 8:00am Saturday.......and I haven't even been blessed by the Schuman Gods to received an active membership.
All because I've registered repeatedly and filled out the required "bio" field with "not much to say"
......which is quite accurate for me because I'm an rather private and introverted fellow who leads a very quite life.....hence, "not much to say".
But for fixture reference for anyone who might want to register there...."not much to say" is an unacceptable answer in the bio field.
At least I got a response from someone there.
Amazing.

Like I have been saying, they are insecure and they really don't have anything new or creative anyways. Its best just to ignore them and let them die in obscurity.

RE: Schuman forum
FYI, when I originally tried to apply for Schumman's forum, I got an email saying I could not join because I wrote wiggling my toes as my job or something like that. Why should I tell about my profession?

All forums do this with legal BS in the rules stating something like "All posts and threads become the property of XXXX once posted on this site.“
The difference is $chuman doesn't simply want the information posted as his property, he want's his members to be the sole proprietors of it.
Search bots can't crawl it, noobies looking for ideas won't have any "merrit" to get in (which means they can't learn from it, develop their own ideas and contribute in return), members can't post links for others to view and valuable contributing members will get banned if they talk about "$chuman's information" elsewhere (me) or say something even slightly negative about them (winmutt) . All that effectively makes the forum's primary attraction non-existent, which in turn limits new information and variety.
Its like trying to expand your family through incest, you'll get fucked up kids and stagnant evolution.

"Mildly" would be relative? The "father" burns cold VO and uses straight 30wt engine oil.
