Precombustion chamber replacement
Should prechambers be replaced as a set, all new? Is it okay to replace just a few of them with used ones?

Just installed rebuilt injectors and noticed that a few of the prechamber balls are pitted. At $80-$100/prechamber this could get rather expensive...

Symptoms are smokey idle, especially when under slight load (in gear).

Also, does anyone know a part number for the shimano bike tool that can be made into a prechamber puller?

RE: Precombustion chamber replacement
Prechambers are non-wear items under normal conditions. They can be replaced individually. You will need new seal rings of the correct height. If the head has been planed at any point you'll need the thicker one to prevent piston contact.

The bike crank puller can be any generic brand. A bike store wouldn't be a bike store if they didn't have any.

RE: Precombustion chamber replacement
Diesel911 makes prechamber tools. I have an earlier set and works great.
