'Jurgen' - 1982 300sd cream paint with palimino MB tex interior. Now running with new cooling systemBig Grin.......discovered oil cooler has pinhole @#$%@Angry Nitrile gloves back on......

'Otto' - 1985 300sd anthracite? grey/silver? with grey leather interior. (heated front seats!!!!Cool ) Euro headlights

That is a very nice engine swap candidate. I'm not sure I buy his 'high MPG SUV' claims. The Jeep Liberty CRD only manages about 27-28 highway MPG on a good day.

This seller has been trying to sell this OM606.962 for quite a while...I'd love to own it. :twisted:

You know, it looks to me like this engine NA not turbo'd, the pictures are small, but can't see where a turbo would fit into the assembly. I know that the as said without turbo, but I just don't see where it would tie in...

Also, 'Million Mile Warranty'???? yeah right! Wink

I notice that this thread has been moved to a new index called non MBZ Diesel. Isn't the Liberty engine a MB?

The turbo on the OM606.962 is mounted kinda low. Also an NA OM606 will have two exhaust manifolds and two downpipes.
The Jeep Liberty CRD 2.8L is made by VM Motori - an Italian company.

VM was about half owned by Daimler-Chrysler. Now that Mercedes has gotten rid of that baggage I don't know if VM is MB anymore or not.

The automotive diesel world is getting smaller and smaller, it seems that MB has it's hands everywhere. Good for us!! 8-)
